User process trying to access a kernel mapped address

What is going to happen if a user process tries to access memory using a kernel mapped address ? For instance tries to access a virtual address between 0x80000000 and 0xa0000000. Isn’t the MMU going to just translate this right away without consulting the OS or the TLB ? Or is it going to generate an exception because the user process is not running in privileged mode ?
