Having problem installing using PPA

Hello,

I am trying to install operating system toolchain. The installation guide mentioned to run the following command:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ops-class/os161-toolchain

When I ran the command I got the following error:

Err:17 http://ppa.launchpad.net/ops-class/os161-toolchain/ubuntu bionic Release
  404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.95.83 80]
Reading package lists... Done
E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/ops-class/os161-toolchain/ubuntu bionic Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

I am not really sure how to move forward. I looked into the man pages but it didn’t work for me. Please let me know what should be my next step.
Thanks in advance!

Edit: Any support for Bionic in coming months ?

Since these are archived course materials I would say you really should follow what the specification says. That said, better not to expect any future update.

Well just a side note, should you invest your time in setting up all those environments from the scratch? Absolutely! I learned a lot about operating systems from this course and appreciated every bit of it. I’m sure you will too.

Easiest way is to just use 16.04 or use a VM with 16.04 ubuntu.
Since you will be writing your own kernel  , you won’t feel the need for 16.04 vs 18.04 host os.
